About

Katharina Kraus is a fine jewellery designer, maker and independent curator from Munich, Germany. She first graduated from the Berufsfachschule für Glas- und Schmuck, Neugablonz in 2007. In 2016 she graduated from the Städtische Meisterschule für das Gold- und Silberschmiedehandwerk in Munich with a Master craftsman certificate in Jewellery and Silversmithing. In 2018 Katharina graduated with distinction from the Central St. Martins University in London with a Master’s in Jewellery Design. Her work has previously been exhibited at Milan Fashion Week, Galeria Alice Floriano and AME Gallery. She recently curated “in flux” an exhibition exploring contemporary craftsmanship at Milan Jewellery Week 2019.

Her jewellery uses natural light reflection in custom-cut gemstones, which visually reference the angled lines found in the architecture of cityscapes. Her ethically sourced jewels explore the relationship between idea, design, maker and material.
